2021-22 Season Canceled; Fertile Ground goes Virtual

We regret that, like theatres across the region, we are forced to cancel our 2020-21 season due to the pandemic and concern for the health of our artists and audience.

However, we will produce our 2021 New Play Award winner, Cat Napping by Kwik Jones, as part of the 2021 Fertile Ground: City-Wide Festival of New Works.  This will be presented as an online video in February 2021 as our ninth annual entry in the Fertile Ground Festival.

We had hoped to produce an abbreviated 20-21 season of three new works by local writers:

Confabulous by Susan Faust
This comedy drama questions what it feels like to lose your mind, whether sibling rivalry ever ends, and how to define family when memories are ever-changing.

It’s Not Unusual by Brian Shnipper
It’s 1968. In Utah, a young woman secretly watches the Ed Sullivan show. After Tom Jones appears on her TV screen, she knows her life has been forever changed. A play about living outside the norm.

Portrait of the Widow Kinsky by Sara Jean Accuardi
The widow of a once promising artist is forced to take a hard look at the past when the opportunity to secure her husband’s legacy finally arrives.

Instead, we will include these shows in our 2021-22 season along with 4 other exciting plays to round out a full season.  We will inform you of the actual shows and dates once they are decided.

To our patrons:  If you are holding any unused 2019-20 season tickets (lavender!) they can be used at the door for our 2021-22 season or you can always consider them as a donation to PCTG.
