Foxfire by Susan Cooper and Hume Cronyn

It’s the early 1980s and 79-year-old widow, Annie Nations, sits on the porch of the family farm, Stony Lonesome, in a clearing on a mountainside in rural Rabun County, Georgia. At night, a lichen called foxfire glows on dead fallen trees in the dark Appalachian forest around her.

Benjamin Tissell * (Dillard Nations)

Benjamin Tissell is a Portland-based actor, director, and musician. Recent local credits include “Astoria” (Portland Center Stage), “The Angry Brigade” (Third Rail Repertory), “Fly By Night” (Broadway Rose), “Godspell” (Lakewood), “Peter and the Starcatcher” (Portland Playhouse), and many others. Virginia Howe Kincaid (Annie Nations)

Honored to follow Jessica Tandy in this role, Virginia has performed at many local theaters. Favorite roles include any of the moment, but a few are Molly Ivins, Lady Bird Johnson, Juror #10, Ouiser Boudreaux, Dolly, and Auntie Mame. Next up for Virginia is “‘night, Mother” opening October 26 at Chehalem Players Repertory in Newberg.

Del Lewis * (Hector Nations)

Del’s credits include “The Rothschilds” and “Fiddler on the Roof” (Broadway); “Streets of New York” and “All In Love” (Off-Broadway); “Grimm” and “The Librarians” (TV). He’s a professional director and has been Head of Graduate Acting (University of Wisconsin–Madison) and Chair of Theatre (Northeastern University). Del has acted with most of Portland’s professional companies, garnering a Drammy nomination for Third Rail’s “The Nether.” He teaches at Bridgetown Conservatory.

Tiffany Groben (Holly Burrell)

Tiffany Groben is delighted to make her PCTG debut. Favorite theatre credits include “Belfast Girls” (Corrib Theatre), “Reborning” (Beirut Wedding World Theatre Project), “Murder on the Nile” (Lakewood Theatre), “Play” (Cracked Nutshell Productions), “Ramona Quimby” (Oregon Children’s Theatre), “The Tempest” (Portland Shakespeare Project), and “SubUrbia” (Portland Actors Conservatory).

Alex Trull (Prince Carpenter)

Alex Trull graduated from Portland State University with a M.M in Voice Performance and recently played Giuseppe in Mock’s Crest production of “The Light in the Piazza” and Mayor in PSU’s production of “Albert Herring.” Alex is currently working on “Tenor vs Baritone,” a song recital set for October 7th.

David Mitchum Brown (Director)

David has been acting and dancing since the age of eleven and enjoyed a career in production shows before taking an extended hiatus for college and parenthood. Since returning to acting a few years ago, he has appeared in dozens of stage and screen productions across the country and overseas. David sincerely thanks PCTG for this opportunity to try his hand at directing with such a talented group of local actors!
